Concrete Prep & Repair in Sarasota, FL

Diamond grinding, crack repair, and moisture-aware prep — the reason a coating lasts.

Concrete Prep & Repair · Sarasota & Southwest Florida

The Part of the Floor You Never See

Every floor we install starts here, and it’s the part no one Instagram-photographs: mechanical prep. Epoxy Solutions diamond-grinds every slab we coat across Sarasota and the Southwest Florida Gulf Coast — Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier Counties, repairs cracks and spalling, and deals with moisture before a drop of resin goes down.

Grinding opens the concrete so the coating anchors into it instead of sitting on top. It also strips the stuff that kills floors — curing compounds on new slabs, soaked-in oil on old ones, failing paint and previous coatings on everything in between.

We also take on prep-focused work on its own: grinding off a failed DIY coating, smoothing a rough or paint-covered slab, or getting a floor ready for whatever finish comes next.

Choosing a Pro

What to Look for in a Concrete Prep & Repair Company

Mechanical, not chemical

Acid etching is the shortcut that voids most coating warranties in practice. Grinding is slower, dustier work — and it’s the only prep we trust our floors to.

Cracks repaired, not painted over

A coating follows the slab. Cracks and spalls need to be routed and filled before coating, or they telegraph straight through.

Moisture taken seriously

Florida slabs push moisture year-round. Prep should include a hard look at moisture — it decides primer choice and whether the floor lasts.

Dust under control

Grinding makes serious dust. Pro equipment runs with vacuum capture so your garage doesn’t become a chalk mine.

Prep priced honestly

A too-cheap quote usually means the prep got skipped. The grind is where the money in a floor actually goes.

Why does surface prep matter so much?
Because coatings don’t fail in the middle of the resin — they fail at the bond line. Grinding opens the concrete so the system anchors in; skipping it is why floors peel. It’s the least glamorous and most important step of the job.
Can you remove my old, peeling coating?
Yes — failed DIY kits, old paint, and previous coatings grind off to sound concrete. Then the slab gets repaired and rebuilt with a proper system.
Is the grinding process dusty?
Grinding creates a lot of dust, which is why the equipment runs with vacuum capture. The workspace gets protected and cleaned as part of the job.
Do new slabs really need grinding?
Especially new slabs — builders finish them with curing compounds and a hard trowel surface that coatings can’t grip. Grinding takes that layer off so the floor bonds.
Do you do prep work without a coating?
Yes — standalone grinding, smoothing, and repair jobs are welcome, whether you’re fixing a rough slab or getting ready for a different finish.
